Karnataka State College Librarians Association was established in 1979 with an objective to improve the service of the college libraries, improve the status and service conditions of library staff, co-operate actively to benefit mutually by the resources available to the libraries, strengthen the financial resources of the college libraries and raise the professional standard of library staff in college libraries.
During the span of three decades, significant achievements have been made for the cause of librarianship in Karnataka State to develop the college libraries on par excellence. At present, Dr U.S.Vijayraj Kumar, President of Karnataka State College Librarians Associations initiated to organize six regional workshops on total quality improvement in libraries in different parts of Karnataka.
Professor T. S. Rubin was the first President of the Karnataka State College Librarians' Association.
